Guenter Barth

I was born in East Germany and started painting at the age of sixteen.

It was through this passion for nature that I also developed a love of photography, a combination that helped me see life the way I thought it should be recreated on canvas.

At the age of twenty I was married and escaped with my wife to West Germany, where I continued painting in my spare time.

In 1960 my wife and I migrated to Australia where the natural beauty of the Australian bush and outback became my inspiration.

I completed several paintings but then became involved in earning a living to support my family of two children, as well as establishing my own business.

In 1994 at the age of 57 I retired from business, allowing myself, at long last to follow my dream and paint. I have not stopped since.

In 2003 my wife and I joined the Nepean Art Society. They are a great bunch of people that embraced us like old friends.

My paintings have now been sold to every state of Australia, also to Germany and Japan.
